A pictorial diary of my walks around the parks and wild areas of Leicestershire, and occasionally farther afield.

If you're new to my blog, you might like to have a look at the pictures in the older post as well (click on button at the bottom of the page).

I am also a writer, using the pen-name John Gwynant, and I'll occasionally announce my latest book release on the blog.

Where have all the birdies gone - 1 sept 2011

I'm having difficulties finding interesting birds at the moment, several walks round Watermead, Blackbrook and Thornton and all I have to show for it is A few Butterfly pics and a Dragonfly. I may have to try something different in the future if things don't pick up.

However there were quite a few Speckled Woods fluttering by yesterday.

And mixing it with them was this Gold Banded Dragonfly, which settled on a leaf to sunbathe

I haven't been bored however, I spent a lot of time tidying and updating my website

www.books4reading.com

And uploading my books to Amazon to make them available to the public
